When Tomb Raider 2 is released it will not be multi-millionaire star Angelina Jolie the audience will admire as she whizzes through the water on a jetski, but Oxfordshire secretary Vicky Molyneax-Beale.
The 25-year-old works in the Williams Conference Centre at Grove by day, but on her days off she is also a world champion jetskier and double for the stars. Last autumn she became the first Briton to claim the novice jetski world title at Lake Havasu, in Arizona. In the spring, she was cheered to second place by 20,000 spectators at Paris's Bercy Indoor Stadium and is presently leading the British women's jet ski championships. Millions more will get to see her ploughing over waves at high speed when the film Tomb Raider 2 arrives in British cinemas next week. The film's first action sequence, filmed off the Greek island of Santorini, features a bikini-clad Vicky in boots and black wig zipping over the Mediterranean at 50mph. "It was amazing how alike Angelina Jolie and I were -- we're both tall, dark-haired, with slender hips -- and neither of us are what you might call curvaceous, " she said. "I had to wear a fair amount of padding in my bikini top, which was not very comfortable travelling at speed over the water. It was the first time that I've ever ridden without a life-jacket. "I also ended up doing an underwater stunt scene with giant bubbles. "The idea was that I floated on the water and the bubbles took me down, then I had to fight my way back to the surface. The director kept shouting 'Look like you're fighting to get back up'. I told him I didn't need to act." Miss Molyneaux-Beale was with Angelina Jolie for a week. "She was very down-to-earth, great to work with, and very professional," she said. Miss Molyneaux-Beale -- who survived being hit on the head by a jetski after being thrown from her ski during a race in Stockton-on-Tees -- will also appear on the Channel 4 programme Superhuman in November. She was chosen from 2,000 applicants to complete physical and mental challenges.
