Report: The best lake, hands down, to ride on in the Hill Country has to be lake Buchanan. It is one of the largest lakes in Texas. Towards the middle of the lake, on windy days, Ive seen swells reach insane hights for a lake. Buchanan is rarely crowded, even during the summer. Lake Travis has to be one of the funnest lakes, unfortunatly is always low, and very crowded, use extreem caution on Travis. Inks Lake is probably one of the funner lakes in the Hill Country, due to the state park. Thanks tom2bad.

Here's a great place to ride, North Padre Island, Corpus Christi, TX (pictured left). Vast amount of launching places. Gulf on one side, ICW on the other, 8 mile wide bay that gets choppy and fun, flat water areas for water skiing etc, loads of open space, uncrowded, water nice and warm from late April to late October, still useable in Winter. Thanks Phil.
Uncertain Swamps off of the Big Cypress River (pictured right) and Caddo Lake is a cool place to ride just be careful and avoid the big trees.
Lake Austin (in town) that offers 20 miles of flat, spring fed water and beautiful scenery 10 minutes from downtown Austin.

Lake Buchanon. Buchanon is the northern most of the Colorado River "Highland Lakes". It is very scenic with lots of bird life, 3 waterfalls into the lake that you can ride under and access to the river on the northern end for unlimited touring through the pristine Texas hill country Too cool!

Canyon Lake is is less crowded that Travis but not as diverse as Buchanon.
Lake Travis is called the prettiest of the highland lakes but it has proved to be the most crowded in recent years.




Report: There are a couple of good places to ride in Virginia Beach. First there is Rudee Inlet, which gives you direct access to the ocean. There is also a launch at First Landing State Park off 64th Street which gives you access to Broad Bay and Linkhorn Bay. There is also a small beach in between the two bays where you can park your JetSki and relax. Gets crowded on weekends.
