Malone tallied an amazing 111 points over the six rounds of the pro-freestyle championship, claiming first place in each of the final five events. He further defined himself as one of the sports all-time greatest when he performed the first ever aerial double barrel roll in the first round. Malone ran his streak to seven straight wins with two more victories in the Motosurf Wave Challenge on the season’s final weekend at the Oceanside Pier in southern California. “The Octane’s stability and performance have just been incredible,” says Malone. “I can’t thank Polaris enough for the Octane. The Octane gives me complete confidence in my ability to put on a great show for the fans and helped me bring home not one, but two titles. It’s amazing.” Another Polaris racer, Victor “The Slasher” Sheldon, had an equally impressive stretch on the Pro-Ski circuit. Sheldon finished a close second in the 2003 Motosurf Pro Ski S/S competition. Sheldon was a model of consistency throughout the season winning the first round and making a trip to the podium each weekend. “I’m stoked with our results,” said Sheldon after his second podium appearance. “My Polaris Octane was always there for me and its performance and stability in the big surf was phenomenal.” Dan Schroepfer, product and racing manager for Polaris Watercraft, was ecstatic with the results by Sheldon and Malone and the performance of the Octane. "Malone and Sheldon have been fantastic this season," says Schroepfer. “Eric really blew the competition out of the water with the Octane. And Victor’s second-place finish in Pro Ski, which had traditionally been dominated by the big factory teams, is a testament to both man and machine.”
