In Germany it´s not easy to find a good place to ride. There are no lakes or anything like that, it´s just allowed on a river like the "Rhein". So I often ride in Belgie or Dutchland, but even there it´s not so easy, because you must be member in any PWC Club if you wanna ride on Club lakes, where it is allowed. And then: if you're just a student like me, it´s gonna be more and more expensive.

Jet Ski Ride Area Canada

The lake shown is the smallest of three lakes all joined together by rivers. The three lakes are surrounded by 2 camping sites with full services (pool, tennis etc...) The local fishing club is where we go to put our PWC's to water. The fees range between $10 to $15 Canadian. It's not really a fishermen's paradise but for water related sports, three lakes joined together by rivers is a good thrill. When the water is high like on the photo the main supply of water goes up and we can ride a network of ¨S¨ type rivers. We are located about 2 hours from the US border (Derby Lanes Vermont) Photo and information sent in by David.

Report : The waves in the Great Lakes are killer to jump. The only thing you really have to do is jump one wave and hope to hell you clear the next one or not case the third one. They roll in one after the other with about 6 ft. in between. We also have some great surf riding. West Lake has about 5 miles of fresh water sand dunes, largest in the World, no kidding. -Jay
Report : Whether you love mad air or sick speed we have it all going on here! As I ride my 99' Yahama GP 1200, I have experienced some of my best riding here on Rochester's shores of Lake Ontario. Early spring, zip up the wetsuit and your set. See I really love riding so the cold doesn't really get to me. Plus at this time of the year boat traffic is at a minimum, so it's a perfect time to break your ski in for the crazy, off the hook summers we have here. This time of the year, you can really open up your PWC and really see what it's capabilities are. My personal best, well I broke 67 mph already this season, and let me just tell you it was one of the greatest rush's I've ever engaged! Well summer time really doesn't need much explination. Great people on the water, sunshine and great fun are the main ingredients. Boat traffic is at a peak this time of the year, so the wake's are up, sometimes pushing close to 5 to 10 feet. Depending on the boat of course! We get the cement and Huge cargo ships here too. That's when you bust out some sick manuvers! Rochester's waterfront is rocking from sun up till sundown, at least for us skiers, boaters I guess are lucky and can stay out past sundown. Me personally, I get my fill while the sun is shining! Numerous resturants, and hang-outs line the Gennesse River. Check out O'Laughlin's or the Pelican's Nest, those are my favorites! If you can deal with a little cold earlly and late in the season, your set. You can get a good 9 months of skiing out of the year. I can't resist that, Rochester's lakefront is simply irresistable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE N.Y -Geoffrey Rochester N.Y

Report: A great place to ride around San Diego is the Baja Coast. Head south to Mexico and stop at a drive thru insurance place. $20 a day insures your car and skis in Mexico up to $20000. Head down the coast on Route 1 past Tijuana about an hour ($12 in tolls) and take in the most beautiful views you can even comprehend. Start looking for campgrounds on the beach. It will cost you about $4 american a night. Do not pass Ensenada (too scary). The waves and the view are spectacular. Our weekend camp trip hailed 8-11 ft waves (also scary), crystal clear water and excellent crab dinners (about $7a plate). We slept on the beach to the sound of crashing breakers. Surf teams frequent these rural beaches. Bring your own gas because the highest octane we found in Mexico was 86. The greatest thing about Mexico is that it is a free for all down there. Very little regulations.

Brussels, Belgium - Lac de l'eau D'heure jet ski lake is the best south of Charleroi and has a club where you can launch (best with 4wd because of a shingle beach with steep slope). A fee may be payable depending on the season; summer yes, winter no. Third party insurance is obligatory. A visible registration is also obligatory. A licence is or is not needed depending on what the laws in your country are (if you need one or not) to ride. In certain parts of flanders a special tax is needed to be paid (another way to soak the individual). Consequentl,y most people ride in Wallonia where it is free. Most ramps are free of charge and free access.
In the ocean, there are around 5 ports on the north sea coast. All have boat ramps and all are usable in almost all states of tide. All are free to use there. Their is a strict 5 knot limit in the ports and 500 meter band nearest the beach. You cannot beach launch. You cannot ride closer than 500 meters from the beach except in a channel to access the port.

Report: I live near the Columbia River in Colville Washington. We jet ski on the Columbia, it is also known as Lake Roosevelt (named after you know who). It costs $40 bucks a year for a jet ski/boat launch pass. The water during the summer months is almost 70 degrees! Perfect for cooling you off! There are literally hundreds of miles of boat free-people free places to ride. The River is several miles wide and plenty of campsite places. There are even some islands you can camp out on - they even have picnic tables on them! Most of the time the water is like glass. But on occasion the water will be chop mostly big and gentle waves. Perfect for getting big air! This summer there were a couple weeks of awsome waves. On occasion you will find a log or two that doubles as a jump. If you yearn for big open space and nobody bugging you about your ride this is the place to go! You can even ride through the border into Canada! Or rent a house-boat and tow your skis for that leisure weekend retreat!

Report: The best lake, hands down, to ride on in the Hill Country has to be lake Buchanan. It is one of the largest lakes in Texas. Towards the middle of the lake, on windy days, Ive seen swells reach insane hights for a lake. Buchanan is rarely crowded, even during the summer. Lake Travis has to be one of the funnest lakes, unfortunatly is always low, and very crowded, use extreem caution on Travis. Inks Lake is probably one of the funner lakes in the Hill Country, due to the state park. Thanks tom2bad.

Here's a great place to ride, North Padre Island, Corpus Christi, TX (pictured left). Vast amount of launching places. Gulf on one side, ICW on the other, 8 mile wide bay that gets choppy and fun, flat water areas for water skiing etc, loads of open space, uncrowded, water nice and warm from late April to late October, still useable in Winter. Thanks Phil.
Uncertain Swamps off of the Big Cypress River (pictured right) and Caddo Lake is a cool place to ride just be careful and avoid the big trees.
Lake Austin (in town) that offers 20 miles of flat, spring fed water and beautiful scenery 10 minutes from downtown Austin.

Lake Buchanon. Buchanon is the northern most of the Colorado River "Highland Lakes". It is very scenic with lots of bird life, 3 waterfalls into the lake that you can ride under and access to the river on the northern end for unlimited touring through the pristine Texas hill country Too cool!

Canyon Lake is is less crowded that Travis but not as diverse as Buchanon.
Lake Travis is called the prettiest of the highland lakes but it has proved to be the most crowded in recent years.

Report: There are a couple of good places to ride in Virginia Beach. First there is Rudee Inlet, which gives you direct access to the ocean. There is also a launch at First Landing State Park off 64th Street which gives you access to Broad Bay and Linkhorn Bay. There is also a small beach in between the two bays where you can park your JetSki and relax. Gets crowded on weekends.

If your tough enough.... You got to try out Pacific City at the Central Oregon Coast....Great break..right to left..Waves average 3ft to 10ft. Pretty cold water, hence the tough comment. You ride right out of the river in to the break...no fees..overnight camping on a huge beach and alway filled with quality, friendly, good jet skiiers. Hope to see ya there!

Columbia River in Portland, Oregon- I took the sled out this weekend for the first time on the and what a ride it was!! Launch fee was only $3 with no parking fee. The water was glassy in the morning and sunny all day. We had awesome views of Mt. Hood in the background and the Glenn Jackson bridge in the foreground. There is more than ample riding space, as the river is a quarter mile wide in spots and you can ride from Longview, WA clear up to Bonneville Dam in Cascade Locks, OR (That's almost 80 miles!!) and best of all, Oregon is a relatively friendly PWC state. What more could you ask for?? (Warmer water...it was only 46 degrees!)

Report: A great place to ride is Walker Lake in Hawthorne. It's Located in between Reno and Las Vegas. There's many places to load your water vehicle. There also is many places to camp and spend the weekend riding. It's a very nice Lake and the more people who visit will help our community.

Report: Laughlin, Nevada is one of my favorite places to ride. There are 10 casinos on the Colorado River and if that isn't good enough, Lake Mohave is just 10 minutes north. There are many boat ramps and trails leading to the water on both the Arizona and Nevada side of the lake and river. Katherines Landing on Lake Mohave boasts a 10 lane boat ramp that really handles the crowds well. Best of all, you can stay at the casinos during the week for under $20 a night. Jetski rentals, Houseboat rentals, Jetski repairs and parts are all available on the water or in Bullhead city on the Arizona side. If you have ever been to Glamis in the Imperial Sand Dunes during Thanksgiving weekend, this is the watercraft equivalent.
